MEDIA: the Giant Awoke

May 2014 

The year when all eyes were on Brazil. 2014. A year in which the country celebrated one of the most important and massive international events: the FIFA World Cup.  

However, the atmosphere in the country's major cities was not all festive. For months, hundreds of thousands of people were protesting in the streets asking for their taxes to be spent on more pressing matters than the international sporting event and also demanding improvement in basic services like health care and education. Those were some of the faces of the people that took the streets. O Gigante acordou! "people kept repeating. 

"The Giant awoke".
